What is your favorite childhood memory?

My dad was an incredibly important person in my life. As the youngest of 4 adopted children, I won the parent lottery. One of my fondest memories was spending time with him in simple ways, but one that stands out the most is sitting with him and his friends in our living room on a Friday night and debating grown up topics. I loved being included in these discussions and being part of the interesting conversations. From economics to politics, to neighborhood gossip, we spent hours solving the world’s problems.

What has been your most defining life experience?

Leaving my small town in 1984, as a senior in high school, to be an exchange student in Germany, was absolutely defining for me. The true seeds of perspective, humility and resilience were certainly planted in the 8 months I spent on the North Sea.

What has been your toughest life experience?

Living through the dot.com bust from 2001 -2003 provided a lesson around economic and hype cycles that continues to serve me well.

What do you believe to be the most important leadership skill?

LISTENING and I’m working on it…………….

What is your proudest accomplishment?

Being the mother of two wonderful kids – true miracle.
