About Rallyday Partners:

Based in Denver, Colorado, Rallyday Partners (“Rallyday”) is a lower middle market private equity firm focused on providing inspired capital for inspired companies. Our purpose is to empower leaders to go even bigger, create the most value for the most people, and share in the experience of a lifetime.

Rallyday is a different kind of Private Equity firm, created by successful entrepreneurs to provide our portfolio companies with the resources and support that we wish we’d had when we were growing the businesses we founded. Our firm, whose motto is “by founders, for founders”, provides four distinctive forms of capital support: (1) Financial Capital that funds transformational growth initiatives; (2) Experiential Capital that pairs former successful entrepreneurs that founded and led Rallyday with growth-minded entrepreneurs; (3) Creative Capital that reimagines bigger strategies for its portfolio companies; and (4) Human Capital that unlocks the power of culture catalyzing extraordinary organizational and personal growth.

In early 2022, Rallyday raised its second fund, securing $205 million of investment from universities, non-profits and others with the express mandate to invest in ambitious, scaling businesses with the potential to transform their industries.

Job Description:

The firm is seeking to hire a Director with 10+ years of post-undergraduate experience, including at least 7 years of direct Private Equity experience, to be an integral member of our growing team. The candidate should be comfortable with and capable of sourcing new opportunities, leading execution of new investments, and working with management teams of portfolio companies and directly with the Partners of the firm. As a lower-middle market focused private equity firm, the candidate must be comfortable working with smaller companies and in situations with imperfect information, conducting a significant portion of due diligence in-house and managing complex processes and situations.

The Director will play a key role leading all parts of the transaction process, including: sourcing, completing industry research and writing investment memos with the help of a Vice President, securing financing, negotiating legal documentation, and leading post-close operational and strategic initiatives. This individual will also work collaboratively with management teams at portfolio companies to help build value through efficient operations, organic growth and add-on acquisitions. With a typical deal team of a Managing Partner, Director and a Vice President, the candidate will play a critical role in quarterbacking and driving execution of new deals, as well as post-closing portfolio management and strategy execution.

As a lean team of nine investment professionals (four Partners, two Directors, two VPs, one Director of Operations), the ideal candidate will be extremely proactive and multi-disciplinary in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have multiple years of investment transaction experience (including as a deal quarterback) and possess the ability to evaluate, analyze, and synthesize investment opportunities. He/she should also effectively communicate and quantify an investment thesis along with its related risks and mitigating factors. This candidate must thrive in an entrepreneurial private equity culture and have the potential to grow into a larger role at the firm.

Responsibilities:

  • Sourcing actionable opportunities through systemic deal flow generation that includes outbound email marketing campaigns, direct calling, networking, thematic investing, and banker-led processes
  • Tracking investment opportunities and sourcing activities in a CRM (Salesforce)
  • Marketing the firm to both internal and external constituents, including attending relevant trade shows and industry networking
  • Preparation of investment memos, two-pagers and business plan summaries
  • Researching investment target’s competitive position, market size and industry dynamics
  • Structuring and arranging debt with lenders
  • Management of third-party diligence providers, including legal, accounting and industry specific consultants
  • Detailed financial analysis and modeling
  • Leading legal documentation and post-closing legal issues
  • Managing post-close value creation initiatives
  • Assisting the Managing Partners in deploying the Rallyday Accelerator Program

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • 7 years direct Private Equity experience (required)
  • 10+ years of total experience including a strong academic background
  • Relevant professional experience in lending, consulting, investment banking and private equity
  • Team player with proven ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and quantitative skill set
  • Entrepreneurial orientation, able to work in less structured environments with minimal oversight
  • Proven ability to proactively manage processes and outside relationships
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
  • Strong integrity and professionalism
  • Willingness to have a crazy good time!
