What is your favorite childhood memory?
Taking family vacations to Charleston. Riding bikes, swimming in the ocean, and soaking up the beauty of the Lowcountry was magic. We’ve kept the tradition alive and go back to Charleston together as a family once a year.
What is your most defining life experience?
Rowing in high school and college were some of the most defining experiences of my life. The sport reshaped how I see my own potential, taught me the true meaning of hard work, highlighted the importance of teamwork and gave me the unforgettable thrill of winning!
What has been your toughest life experience?
My freshman year of college was a challenging transition. It was the first time I was far from home, and I found myself overwhelmed academically, emotionally, and physically as a full-time student athlete. It was a steep learning curve, but ultimately a period of tremendous growth. I learned to seek support, lean on my friends and family and most importantly to be kinder to myself. By the end of the year, I felt proud of what I had accomplished and how much I had grown. That experience became a foundation for how I approach future challenges by stepping outside of my comfort zone and embracing growth through discomfort.
What do you believe to be the most important leadership skill?
VULNERABILITY. Showing up with true vulnerability takes courage and reflects the fiercest traits of leadership. Great leaders tap into vulnerability as a superpower to foster innovation, creativity and change.
What is your proudest accomplishment?
I have the best friends and family in the world. I am deeply grateful to have their love and support.
