What is your favorite childhood memory?
Growing up in Northern Virginia meant playing on countless youth soccer teams. While I would struggle to recall the result from any specific game, the friendships I made along the way with my teammates and the countless hours spent driving to games with my Dad will always be my favorite childhood memory
What has been your most defining life experience?
Immediately following graduation, I left for the airport with just a one-way ticket booked to London and no concrete plans beyond that. Fast forward three months, I visited seventeen countries, meeting some of the most interesting people from around the world and making countless memories along the way.
What has been your toughest life experience?
Learning how to fit in at elementary school after the release of the “gingers have no souls” South Park episode. But on the positive side, ten years later, it made for a great college essay!
What do you believe to be the most important leadership skill?
Flexibility! Leadership is not one-style-fits-all. Different individuals require different motivations, and these can change over time. Being able to pick the right motivating tactic for a particular situation is key.
What is your proudest accomplishment?
After getting so out of shape after graduating from college that I was not even able to complete a turkey trot 5k, I set the goal of completing my first marathon. Ten months, ~100 runs, and fifty pounds later I finished the Marine Corps Marathon!
