Nikki Turnage

Executive Assistant + Office Manager

What is your favorite childhood memory?

Spending summers with my family on Lake Hamilton in Arkansas. Those days were filled with early mornings on the water, long afternoons swimming and tubing, and evenings watching the sunset from the dock. It was a time to unplug, enjoy the outdoors, and be fully present with the people I love most.

What is your most defining life experience?

My most defining life experience was moving to San Francisco, California immediately after college- without knowing anyone and without ever having visited before. Having spent my entire life in Arkansas, I took a deliberate leap of faith by accepting a remote role in a completely unfamiliar environment.

What could have been an isolating experience instead became one of the most transformative periods of my life. I immersed myself in a new city, built relationships from the ground up, and spent my weekends exploring different parts of the city and surrounding areas. Through this, I developed a stronger sense of independence, adaptability, and curiosity about the world.

Most importantly, the experience reinforced the value of stepping outside my comfort zone. It shaped how I approach uncertainty today- leaning into new environments, learning from different perspectives, and growing through change.

What has been your toughest life experience?

My toughest life experience was the closing of my family’s business, Munro and Company, after 65 years. As a third-generation member, I had spent most of my career there and deeply identified with the brand and our loyal community.

After a challenging season and circumstances beyond our control, we made the difficult decision to close. I was nearly five months pregnant and had just purchased a home, which made the uncertainty especially daunting.

Saying goodbye to something that had shaped so much of my life was hard, but it taught me the importance of letting go and finding strength in new chapters.

What do you believe to be the most important leadership skill?

Integrity. I believe the most important leadership skill is integrity- the ability to act consistently with your values, even when it’s difficult. Integrity builds trust, inspires loyalty, and provides a clear foundation for decision-making. It’s what allows a leader to guide others confidently, stay accountable, and navigate challenges while maintaining authenticity and respect for those they lead.

What is your proudest accomplishment?

Becoming Beckham’s mom. He is my world.
